Infinite Dial’s Podcast Consumer 2019 Report Shows More Growth In Podcast Listening



EDISON RESEARCH and TRITON DIGITAL released more information from their INFINITE DIAL study on THURSDAY (4/11), this time focusing on podcast consumers.

Highlights of the Podcast Consumer 2019 study included sharp growth in podcast usage, with 51% of Americans 12+ saying they’ve listened to a podcast, 32% in the last month and 22% in the past week; 122% growth in “Share of Ear” listening in five years; the largest growth occurring in the 12-24 demographic but all demos showing increases; 41% of monthly listeners saying they’re listening to podcasts more in the last year, versus 13% saying they’re listening less; SPOTIFY (43%) and PANDORA (35%) showing growth as podcast platforms; music leading all topics preferred by podcast listeners, and 54% saying that they are more likely to consider brands heard in podcast ads.
